TOGETHER IS BETTER

A genuine desire to improve the learning outcomes of gifted students throughout the community has inspired a long-term commitment from primary and intermediate schools in urban and rural Masterton, Wairarapa. This workshop will share the journey taken through from establishing lead teachers of gifted education with-in schools, exploring gifted education with advisory support, in school and across cluster initiatives plus the establishment on a One-Day Centre for Gifted Education co-ordinated by the cluster with the support of the Gifted Kids Programme. It will detail the positives and difficulties, some of the tools developed, the outcomes so far and future projections for the cluster. We’re not there yet but we have found a collective approach to be vital to maintaining consistent student focused outcomes, sustainability, and ownership whilst we endeavour to give our gifted students the best educational opportunities we can deliver.
