TEACHERS AS LEADERS: Successful differentiation management for able students in the junior school.

There are four areas that teachers are able to modify conditions to differentiate for ability: the content (what is taught) ,the process (how it is taught), the product (what is expected as a result of the learning) and the learning environment. The workshop will examine elements that make a difference for able students and then look at ways to manage it all in the junior classroom, drawing on real examples. The focus of this workshop is on the use of authentic inquiry to meet the needs of gifted students in the junior classroom, through an examination of the strategies that invite student engagement and promote challenge.

Main target audience: classroom teachers of Yr 1-4 students, Early childhood teachers
