SUSTAINING THE GIFTED WARRIOR!

Parents and teachers of the Gifted are often lone warriors, misunderstood, unsupported and gifted sensitive individuals themselves. How do they sustain themselves in this long and difficult battle?

Irene Daniels is from Western Australia and will share her experience from her journey, commencing as a parent of a gifted primary student, advocating for their provision, through to developing a program for the school’s gifted students. She will share her highlights and her low points, and invites you to do the same. How do you sustain yourself through this long and difficult journey? How do you keep the passion for the gifted child alive, and when necessary fan the dying embers back into life? What lessons in resilience can we pass on to our gifted children & students?

Irene will speak briefly about the role of evaluation, networking, professional & personal learning , emotional & spiritual intelligence and stress relief strategies in sustaining yourself as a parent and teacher of the gifted. You are invited to share your insights on this significant theme.

Share...learn...grow...be inspired and sustained.
