UP TOP VERSUS DOWN UNDER

In the last ten years gifted education has been an area of focus for both New Zealand and England. However there have been major differences in how each country has tackled this challenging area. In recent years I have been integrally involved with gifted education initiatives in England, from the Excellence in Cities scheme to the production of the National Quality Standards in Gifted Education. In this talk I will describe key features of the English approach and compare and contrast them with that of New Zealand. Have both countries something to learn from each other? Definitely!
