GIFTED STUDENTS IN SCIENCE

This workshop is designed to give teachers of science some skills and strategies for engaging gifted students in their normal classroom situation. The session will involve implementing strategies that differentiate the learning for gifted students in the normal classroom environment.

There is a focus on practical solutions for stimulating and extending the gifted learner as well as an enriched programme of study for all learners of science. Included is a discussion on the importance of the learner and their metacognition as integral to their increased understanding.

Effective pedagogy is implemented to help teachers through the transition from traditional teaching practices to meet the needs of the 21st Century Learner and the New Science Curriculum.
