OUR TAMARIKI: INHERITORS OF OUR FUTURE

The children who we are teaching today will be the grandparents of the 2050s. Can we even begin to imagine what the world they will inherit will be like? How can we give them the skills they need to live there?

In this presentation I will explore some aspects of the world we might be preparing our gifted children for and look at how the NZ Curriculum provides a vehicle for driving provisions for gifted and talented students. I will explore how it can be intertwined with the concepts of personalised learning to develop the skills that will allow our students to create the world that they will live in.

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. ~Nelson Henderson
