CONFERENCE ABSTRACTSPresenter: Vivienne RussellPERSONALISED LEARNING: Meeting The Needs Of Gifted Students In The Senior Secondary School
In 2005 Rutherford College won a major three year contract with the Ministry Of Education to develop and pilot a programme for gifted students in the senior secondary school. This programme was also the only school based programme in New Zealand to be selected for formal academic research. The programme has been very successful and has been selected by the Education Review Office as a model of good practice in the education of gifted students. This programme is holistic and individualised. The programme has multiple strands and is inclusive of parents and the community.
